Awards
We’re incredibly proud of our amazing team for everything they do to help make Katherine & Griffiths House such a happy, inclusive home for our residents. The warm smiles that we receive every day from our lovely residents is a wonderful reward in itself, but we love sharing the news with residents when a member of our team has been nominated or shortlisted for an award, even more so when they win because we can throw a party!
In November 2023, the winners of the Annual Care and Support West Care Awards were announced and we’re thrilled to have won two of the four awards for which we had been named as finalists.
This is particularly rewarding, because Care and Support West informed us that multiple nominations were received for the Katherine & Griffiths House team from residents, family members and colleagues.
We are so proud to announce that the Cote Charity was the winner of the Care Home of the Year Award, which is a reflection of the calibre of our entire team and our happy, fun-loving residents who together make a very special community at Katherine & Griffiths House.
Martin Brooks, our brilliant Administrator who every day greets visitors, residents and members of staff with a happy smile and a warm welcome was the winner of the Office Support Worker of the Year Award. Huge congratulations to Martin for this well deserved win.
Sabina Green from our Wellbeing Team was named a finalist in the Activities Coordinator of the Year category, recognising her dedication to providing a calendar full of engaging opportunities for our residents and their families to keep minds and bodies active and engaged, leading to positive wellbeing and a sense of achievement.
Deputy Manager, Sue Thorne, was named as a finalist in the Rainbow Heart Outstanding Contribution to Social Care category, which Sue won in 2022.
This new category was established in 2022 to recognise the person or team who has shown the most resilience and creativity in the ongoing ‘new world’ of care.
