Katherine & Griffiths House are located in a beautiful, peaceful setting next to the Downs on the edge of Westbury-on-Trym. Both homes have been purpose-built to offer maximum comfort and quality of life for our residents, with 41 bedrooms in Katherine House and eight in Griffiths House.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite facilities, with an electric profile bed, flatscreen television, telephone point, comfortable furniture and wifi connectivity. Communal facilities include relaxing lounges, dining room, hair salon, patio, decking, small allotment area, spacious gardens, and in Griffiths House, a kitchen for residents to use.
Inside, the homes are filled with natural light and outside there are plenty of comfortable places to enjoy the fresh air, local wildlife and beautiful views. Both homes are part of the Cote Charity and are located in the grounds of Cote House. Katherine House opened in 2009 offering permanent, short term and respite accommodation, with Griffiths House following in 2016 as a sister home dedicated to providing high quality dementia care.
Griffiths House has been specifically designed to encourage residents to live a normal life, interacting with others and participating in activities that will have been part of their daily lives before dementia. Each bedroom features colour coded recognition aids and vision panels to help prompt a resident’s memory when looking for personal belongings. The open layout of Griffiths House allows residents the freedom to go where they wish, while being safely monitored by staff, depending on their individual needs.
