Vision & Values
Cote Charity Vision: Kindness and compassion are at the heart of our home.
Maintaining positive mental wellbeing, including self-confidence and self-esteem, is an important aspect of the care we provide at Katherine & Griffiths House. To promote independence, we offer our residents a choice of physical, social and leisure activities that they find motivating, meaningful and engaging; alongside the opportunity to learn something new. This form of independence is proven to help older people stay well and feel happy.
Compassion is at the heart of everything we do for our residents and our staff, blending empathy and kindness.
Respect and dignity is given to every resident and member of staff. We value each individual for who they are and we will do all we can to understand and promote the needs, abilities and limits of our residents, maintaining their independence and offering freedom of choice.
Transparency promotes trust. We will be open and honest about our care and services, including letting loved ones know if the level of care their relative requires can no longer be met within our home. Our fees will be transparent with no hidden extras. Although we strive for excellence, we will sometimes fall short, upon which occasion we will be honest and we will make changes to improve our services. Our open-door approach for staff means that they can safely report any concerns to a member of the senior management team and their concerns will be investigated immediately.
Collaborative working allows us to constantly strive for excellence together in terms of the care we provide for our residents, applying the same ethos to interactions with family members and professionals. All members of our team are valued and respected and they are an integral part of our community. We will always listen to ideas and suggestions and seek to be the best that we can be.
Commitment to quality of care underpins all that we do. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of care to residents by recruiting, training and developing staff who share our vision and values and who will apply innovative thinking to ensure that Katherine & Griffiths House, as part of the Cote Charity, and all members of our team, are performing to the highest standards. We value our staff for the commitment and passion they apply to providing residents with excellent care. If and when mistakes are made, we expect honest reflection from all those involved so that future mistakes can be prevented.
Above all, we value the most precious thing to all of us – time. We believe that there is always time for a smile, laughter and fun, no matter how busy we are. Everyone responds to a smile that shows kindness, love and understanding. Our residents look forward to our team members spending time with them, and our team members look forward to spending time with our residents – there is a mutual brightening of the day!
We aim to recruit cheerful, compassionate, caring and kind team members, with the expectation that they will come to work with a bright smile for everyone they see, speak to and care for. Laughter and smiling is the best form of therapy and every member of our team brings this to Katherine & Griffiths House every day, because our lovely team members always go the extra mile in everything they do to ensure that your loved one will lead a happy, fulfilling life in our care.
